Men’s Handmade Turkish Slippers

We set out on a mission to empower women and we have been brainstorming more ways to support and uplift women in all aspects of life. When a friend reached out to us we thought it was a sign in the right direction. There is a friend who has moved to Murray to raise his family that helps his grandmother support herself back in Turkey by selling her crochet slippers.

Meet Melek Karabas. She is 85 years old and hand crochet’s these slippers to support herself using 5 needles at a time. Each pair takes roughly 14 hours to make from start to finish.

Hand crochet slippers in Turkey hold cultural and traditional significance. These slippers, often crafted with intricate designs and vibrant colors, are a part of Turkish handicraft heritage. They are not only functional but also serve as a symbol of hospitality and warmth, often given as gifts during special occasions or to guests.
