At Kentucky Julep, we believe in the power of clothing to not only adorn but to elevate the everyday experience and express our innate creativity and complexities as women. Our story is woven into the fabric of ethically crafted women's clothing, each piece a testament to creativity, craftsmanship, and conscious, joyful living.
We are a mother-daughter team with a passion for empowering women through garments that elevate daily life. In 2022, we found ourselves on a similar journey. We had learned far too much regarding the detrimental nature of the fast fashion industry to continue to turn a blind eye to the dangers of it. We were slowly ridding of all of the chemicals in our daily lives including those in our clothing.
At the same time, our bodies were changing in response to softer lifestyle that prioritized peace. We were searching for pieces to build a well-rounded wardrobe that was fashionable, forgiving, natural, and affordable. We also valued comfortability, feel, and practicality. We like to play in the woods as much as we enjoy a night out. We dreamed of elevated comfort—a wardrobe almost as multi-faceted as us. A wardrobe that could literally do it all.
So, we set out on a mission to do just that.
We believe that everyone is creative. And your wardrobe should be a place that allows that play. Comfort and practicality is key, and each piece we have selected reflects that. Our pieces are not to be stowed away in your closet for special occasions (although they are great for those), but rather lived and played in on any mundane day as well. You deserve to feel beautiful, feminine and creative on any day of the week.
After traveling and learning about the clothing and the process of making the textiles in different countries, we knew we wanted to share some of that art form with others. The handmade nature of the item makes it more special and the history of the process and materials make it artful. We work alongside artisans who are dedicated to their craft and ethically source their materials. Our garments reflect the handmade nature of the process, the comfort of a life well-lived, and the creativity of the artist as well as the wearer.

Our dedication to sustainability goes beyond trends, as each piece is meticulously crafted and block printed using ancient techniques on 100% cotton. Our dyes used in out garments are also all-natural, ensuring a comfortable and conscious wear--good for you and the environment.
